Why KU Won’t Land Andrew Wiggins
College recruit, Andrew Wiggins, is planning to make his decision this coming week on where he will attend school. The 6’8” small forward has trimmed his list to four universities including Kentucky, North Carolina, Kansas, and Florida State. Although Kansas will be losing their entire starting five and are looking for a new superstar to replace Ben McLemore, I have very little faith that the number one high school player will have Kansas across his chest during his college career.
Wiggins has canceled his visits to FSU, KU, and UNC, giving pretty clear indication of where he’ll be playing his college ball. Although I believe Kentucky to be his destination, I do not believe that UK is the best fit for the young star. The Kentucky Wildcats’ upcoming squad is stacked with loads of returning players, with the exception of Nerlens Noel. Wiggins probably will not shine as bright on a team with lots of talent around him; this happens to young players quite frequently. But many say Andrew Wiggins is a different kind of athlete and that he will not be fazed by the college game. Only time will tell what the future holds for the top recruit, but it looks like the Wildcats are close to landing yet another number one overall prospect.
Sorry Kansas fans. I do not think Wiggins will commit to Kansas, however, he could prove me wrong…nothing would please me more.
