Dwayne Bowe makes bold prediction
Kansas City Chiefs’ wide receiver Dwayne Bowe has predicted that he will lead the NFL in touchdowns and receptions. If that was not enough, he also spoke for his teammate saying that running back Jamal Charles would lead the league in rushing. Bowe went on to express that he thought that the the Chiefs would be one of the better offensive teams in the National Football League.
“When we get in full gear and pads and close to the season, it’s going to be a show to watch,’’ he claimed on Wednesday. What the Chiefs’ wide receiver is suggesting would be the complete opposite from last season in which Kansas City struggled to find the endzone.
I, for one, will not be surprised if the Chiefs start out hot; they had six pro bowlers last season, they acquired a quarterback, Alex Smith, during the offseason, and now they have an experienced coach in Andy Reid.
Although Dwayne Bowe’s comments might sound like a stretch, he did have Matt Cassel and Brady Quinn throwing him the football last season. I give Bowe a great chance of cashing in on his prediction even though Calvin Johnson might disagree. However, I do not believe Jamal Charles will lead the NFL in rushing; that’s a bit of a stretch due to the fact that there just so happens to be this guy named Adrian Peterson in the league.
The Kansas City Chiefs may have an exciting season beginning this fall, but I believe the Super Bowl to be a bit out of reach at this point. Nevertheless, people have great enthusiasm for this squad even if they are a little nutty. There has even been an article posted recently entitled, The Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl Plan. Dwayne Bowe might be ready, but I’d give the Super Bowl predictions a year or two.
